Ollantaytambo


Ollantaytambo was the royal state of the Inca Emperor Pachacuti who conquered the region, built a town and a ceremonial center. At the time of the spanish conquest this place served as a stronghold for the Inca resistance.
The site is located at an altitude of 2.972 meters in southern Peru.
